Complete industrial painting systems: how they are composed

A turnkey plant is born from integrating several stages of the finishing cycle into a single automated line. Pretreatment (single or multi-stage washing) prepares the part’s surface, curing and drying ovens ensure correct paint polymerization, while overhead conveyors and transporters handle the parts through every station of the plant, from loading to unloading. Masking stations protect areas that must not be painted, and dry or water-veil painting booths ensure overspray abatement in compliance with environmental regulations.

At the heart of every complete industrial painting system are Lesta’s painting robots, such as the Lesta LEBOT MV A6 range, equipped with electronically controlled pumps and guns to apply paint with maximum uniformity and repeatability, reducing material waste compared to manual application.

Automation and control of complete industrial painting systems

A complete Lesta system is not just hardware: it also includes the management software that coordinates every stage of production. Lesta RECIPE MANAGER manages painting recipes and parameters for each type of part, recalling them automatically at every production changeover, while Lesta PRODUCTION MANAGER manages the production queue and tracks the progress of parts along the line. For handling parts on carousels or carriages, Lesta ROTATION UNIT provides the rotation groups needed to present every surface of the part to the robot in the correct position, while Lesta CLEANING STATION automates the periodic cleaning of gun nozzles, reducing plant downtime for maintenance.

This integration between mechanics, plant engineering and software is what distinguishes a true complete industrial painting system from a simple sum of machines: every component communicates with the others, allowing a switch from one production batch to another without stopping the line for manual reprogramming, with a direct advantage on changeover times and on the consistent quality of the finish obtained.
