Painting Carousels for Industrial Painting Systems
Lesta’s painting carousels for industrial painting systems are part-positioning automations made up of a central body, drilled in the middle to house the robot’s base, and a variable number of arms. The carousel structure rotates and carries the parts into the painting position in a controlled and constant manner.

Lesta painting carousels can be of 2 types:
- Integrated carousel, connected to the robot and inseparable from it
- Stand-alone carousel, which guarantees the maximum absence of vibrations for very small parts
Also known as painting turntables, Lesta carousels can be equipped with 2, 3 or 4 arms, depending on the production needs of the system and the loading and unloading rate required by the work cycle.
Each carousel arm engages a motor that allows the parts in the painting position to rotate on themselves and therefore be painted from every side. The rotation of the parts on each arm can be activated either automatically or from the joystick, by pressing the dedicated button.

Thanks to the multi-arm structure, while one carousel arm is in the painting position in front of the robot, the other arms remain available for the loading and unloading of parts, carried out by the operator or by an automatic feeding system. This allows the robot to keep working almost continuously, reducing the downtime typical of a cycle with a single fixed station.
The rotation of the parts on the arm, which can be activated automatically during the painting program or manually via joystick, allows the robot to reach every surface of the part without having to multiply the path teaching points: it is the carousel itself that orients the part towards the robot, simplifying programming and improving the repeatability of the finish on every side worked.
The choice between an integrated carousel and a stand-alone carousel depends on the type of system and the parts to be treated: the integrated version, connected directly to the robot, is designed for compact applications, while the stand-alone version, thanks to its independent structure, guarantees the maximum absence of vibrations and is therefore suitable for painting very small or detailed objects, where even minimal vibration could compromise the quality of the finish.
The number of carousel arms, from 2 to 4, is defined during the system design phase based on the number of parts to be handled simultaneously and the cycle times required by production: more arms mean more stations available for loading and unloading in parallel with painting, while simpler configurations are suitable for smaller production batches or for parts that require longer painting times on each arm.
